With advanced router/firewall and VoIP DSP processor technology, the VIP-462DG is able to make calls via SIP proxy voice communications, plus the IP sharing, QoS, and the SPI firewall mechanism. The VIP-462DG is the ideal choice for Voice over IP communications and integrated Internet sharing for the daily tasks. To bring the users the most flexibility of the add-on RJ-11 interface for PSTN connection, users not only can make the daily PSTN communication, but also enjoy the convenience brought by VoIP communications.

With built-in DECT & GAP compatible base, up to 5 DECT handset can be registered on the VIP-462DG. The pan European users can benefit from the DECT interface, and voice communications can be established from everywhere in the living space. PLANET VIP-462DG comes with an intuitive, user-friendly, yet powerful web management interface, no expertise required for the VoIP communications.

Applications

With PLANET VIP-462DG multiple functions, residential users are able to get connected through 11g Wireless, or Wired UTP to the Internet for digital data e.g., Web browsing, email, FTP, on-line gaming, etc. and also voice connected wirelessly through DECT or wired analog phone, just through the same box.

Up to 5 DECT registrations make the VIP-462DG operates like a small home PBX that makes the internal PSTN calls to reach each other locally or the relatives/friends abroad through VoIP. 54Mbps 11g AP also helps your home connect to the Internet wirelessly.

Supporting SIP2.0 (RFC3261) and STUN features, the VIP-462DG helps the ITSPs/ISPs, or Telecom providers provide the residential users with a cost-effective alternative to making the calls lower.

The service provider offers the phone numbers while home users make long distance calls and international calls at same or lower cost when compared with that of local calls. PSTN port and PSTN life line make the user calls on their own choice; on the other hand, it is used for emergenct if power breaks down.
